Platform engineer, Istanbul
I'm Engin, a platform engineer based in Istanbul. I've spent the last seven years at a cloud consultancy, most recently as Tech Lead, building and running infrastructure on AWS and Google Cloud for companies from e-commerce and retail to insurance.
Most of that work is the same idea applied in different places: turn infrastructure into something teams can read, review and ship on their own. Terraform instead of console clicks, GitOps instead of manual deploys, short-lived access instead of shared passwords, and a disaster recovery plan that actually gets tested.
These days I'm also doing a master's in computer engineering with a focus on AI. My research looks at how to detect when someone is quietly distilling a language model through its API.
This site is where I write things down. Some posts are from my first years in the field; they stay because the basics still hold.
